erai/ ...And Then I Feel Nothing lathe-cut split 10"
Record/Vinyl + Digital Album
Lathe-cut 10" record, 20 of these were made.
Note: A lathe-cut record is not a pressed vinyl record, each copy was cut in realtime using designated machinery by Duophonic/ Augsburg, Germany. A lathe cut record is as durable as a vinyl record (acetate dubplates used to be good for only about 80 spins), it might show some increased surface noise and it might play a little quieter. As these records come handmade one by one, they can show very slight differences (which is just the fun about it).
We had tried out several cutters, and Duophonic did by far the best job, which obviously comes at a price. Lathe cut records cannot compete with the price of pressed vinyl, but they allow for small quantity limited pressings, whereas pressing plants start taking orders at 200-300 copies only.
We're not making any money with this record, the price of 32 euros covers manufacturing and the various fees charged by Bandcamp and Paypal. To make that price a little more tolerable we decided to throw in
- ...And Then I Feel Nothing's last EP on CD
- a handmade silkscreened poster on 700g/m² cardboard
- an erai patch
Also, there are bundles of this 10" and our last albums available at a reduced price.

erai - One Thousand Farewells
You cannot recognize
Faces in the mirror
As they keep changing day after day
And in the shimmering light
You find yourself surrounded
By ghosts of those that you might have become
And like the circles on the surface of the water
From stones you threw as a little boy
At the old pond behind your country house
They disappear dissolving in your memory
Yet somehow they will always stay around
And pictures of the past are so deceptive
The colours fade, the faces change
The roads you drove all merge to one and you
Can’t tell a feverish nightmare from reality
When this moment of peace
Finally comes
You’re asking yourself
With tears in your eyes
What took you so long?
When what you’ve been looking for
Finally comes
You’re asking yourself
With tears in your eyes
What took you so long?
Long
[Now the] curtain has fallen
Yesterday's gone
Time to say to your past [life]
Goodbye and so long
[Now the] curtain has fallen
And a new day has come
Time to say to your past [life]
Farewell and so long
And when I leave
I blink
And I'll wake up at the ocean floor
Nothing can touch me
And I can't touch anything myself
We live and die with our opinions
Mine will trickle down
Into the mud
And I can no longer be held responsible
My body is going to evaporate
Each particle
A Memory
Of happiness
Of kindness
Finally I can be kind

If you played this for me and told me it came out in 1998, I'd have no reason to disbelieve you. An emo revival record in the purest sense—not just influenced by, but a recreation of. 4010
